Part 3: Confronting the Kiss — Restoring Integrity in the Body

By Dr. Paul A. Scavella

Beloved Church Family,

We now come to the most important question,

How do we address the spirit of Judas among us—and within us?

🔍 How It Shows Up Today

The kiss of Judas may look like:

  • Praise in public... but criticsim in privat
  • Faithful attendance... but unfaithful living
  • Kind words... but hidden motives

It is subtle but spiritually dangerous.

⚒️How It Shows Up Today

✅ 1. Self-Examination

Begin with yourself:

"Lord, search my heart."

✅ 2. Full Surrender

Half-commitment leads to double living. Christ calls for all of us to completely submit.

✅ 3. Speak Truth in Love

Jesus did not ignore Judas. He addressed him:

"Friend, why have you come?" (Matthew 26:50) [bibleversestudy.com]

Truth must be spoken—with grace and purpose.

✅ 4. Strengthen Accountability

Healthy churches encourage:

  • Transparency
  • Confession
  • Restoration

❤️ The Example of Christ

Even in betrayal, Jesus showed:

  • Love without compromise
  • Truth without harshness
  • Grace without approval of sin

This must be our model.

☀️Final Appeal

Beloved, the greatest danger to the church is not persecution—it is pretension.

Let us not:

  • Worship Christ and betray Him in our lives
  • Serve Christ while resisting His will

Instead, may we be found faithful—with hearts fully surrendered.

🙏 Final Reflection

At the end of it all, one question will remain:

"Was my walk with Christ real... or just an appearance?"

May our lives answer faithfully.
